Weekend Recap

We had a fun but busy weekend, full of friends and fun! I just find it hard to believe that Halloween is behind us and now begins the holiday season!

Friday night, we went to visit my mother in law who has not been feeling well. Being the good son and daughter-in-law that we are, we brought her ice-cream. Then my hubby and I went to search the thrift stores for a suitable 80’s outfit for a party that we were invited to Saturday night. After our successful shopping, we headed home to our three little dogs.

Saturday, we I slept in, and then we got ready and met up with my brother and sister-in-law at the Main St. Bread Company in Grapevine. We had a low-key celebration for my hubby’s birthday, as well as catching up on their latest news– they are expecting their first baby, due in June! We are thrilled for them and know they will be wonderful parents. It is always so good to see them!

Saturday evening, we donned our finest 80’s attire (wish I had a picture) and went to celebrate our friend, Billy, at his 30th birthday party. The party was so fun, and his wife, Lauren, did the best job planning everything! We had the best time laughing at all of our friends’ costumes.

Yesterday, I went to a sweet friend’s baby shower who is expecting her first baby in January. We had a lot of fun seeing her open up all of her gifts. She was blessed with a lot of adorable things! On the way home, I stopped by TJ Maxx and found a rug that I ended up getting for our kitchen. I had been looking for an antique persian rug for our kitchen to warm up our saltillo tile. I had never seen any rugs similar to this one before at TJ Maxx– so I scooped it up. I’ll post a picture of it soon.

We had only one trick-or-treater come by our house for Halloween… which is fine with me! I’m not big on Halloween. I understand that many people love celebrating it, but I’m just not one for the spooky decor, tacky orange-and-black, and loads of candy. I sound so old-ladyish but I’d rather just celebrate and decorate for Fall/Harvest.

Anway, hope everyone had a nice weekend!
