Office Project: Bulletin Board Change

One of my goals for 2011 included making small updates in my our office. As you know, I am a firm believer in small improvements making a big difference!

The first project I wanted to tackle in the room was the bulletin boards.

The bulletin boards were okay they were, but I felt they could be better.

Before:

I simply recovered them in a navy ticking fabric I already had on hand and staple-gunned (pretty sure I just invented that word) them to the back. I used upholstery tacks (super inexpensive at Hob Lob or any other craft store) to line the edges and drove them in with a hammer. This project was super simple!

Two things to keep in mind when covering bulletin boards in fabric:

1. Make sure your edges are neat! I did “hospital corners” on them, pulled the fabric tight, and secured them to the back of the board.

2. Evenly space your upholstery tacks! I did mine about an inch apart.

Aaaaaaand after:

Stay tuned for more office updates!
