Design Philosophy #2 & Organized Home Month

It’s March already (can you believe it?!) and that means that Spring is on its way!! This time of year always makes me want to kick my house into gear with cleaning it, top to bottom, and organizing every nook and cranny! … Which brings me to another personal design philosophy.

I truly believe that a home must be clean, well-organized, and functional. It is so important to have a home that works for the people that live in it, that has organization and routines that serve the people that inhabit that home. Rooms should be beautiful, yes, but if they are unkempt, filled with clutter, and a chaotic place, then what’s the point? Cleanliness and function trump a house that is decorated to the hilt.

This can be great news because many of us cannot afford to have a room that looks as though it came straight of a magazine… but all of us, no matter our budget or house size, can afford to have a clean home. To pick up a broom and sweep away the dust bunnies or to clean out a drawer, or to drop off a trunk load at Goodwill- these are things that require no funds, yet have a huge impact!

Join me for the month of March as we tackle those cleaning and organizing projects and make our homes a more calm, functional, and yes, beautiful┬áplace to live. We will focus on different rooms and how to make small changes that result in a big difference! I hope you’ll join me!
